U12 NEHYL 2010/11 - HISTORY

10-04-11 Winchester 0 V Reading 1
A very warm day,and unfortunate for the Flyers no subs today as girls were away on their hols. The Flyers started brightly against a well organised Reading team who played on the counter attack, but chances came the way of The Flyers, but today they could not hit the back of the net, {a bit of dejavue like Ascot last year). The girls tried to play football the right way, but on a rock hard pitch it was getting difficult and tireing with the heat. So the 1st half ended goaless, with Camilla not having a shot to save. The 2nd half so a more determined Reading and for the first time and Winchester were on the back foot, and with 1 of their first attempts on goal Reading took the lead with a scrambled goal. The Flyers then seemed to run out of ideas, as hard as the girls tried Readings well organised defence kept them at bay. The Flyers 1st defeat this season after 40 games, but not all is lost we have 3 more league games to go, and so long as the league is fair and lets us complete our fixtures without any time restrictions then the league is still in our hands and so is the treble. Well done today girls it was hard work out there with the weather, and against a well organised side. Its still in our hands, so lets see how we bounce back now lets show what a good side you are. No training for the next 2 weeks,enjoy Easter.

03-04-11 Burymead 0 v Winchester 5
This was going to be a difficult game against a strong physical Burymead side that also wanted revenge after last weeks cup final loss to Winchester. From the ko the girls were in great spirit and not nervous as in the cup final, and with some great flowing passing and movement the girls were 2 nil up in the first 8 mins. Goals from Francesca and Bryony, settled the team and for the next 20 mins the girls played their best football of the season, it was a joy to watch the only thing missing was a cricket score. A further goal from Francesca gave The Blacks a 3 nil h/t lead. In the second half changes were made placing girls out of their normal positions, with Camilla up front and Charlotte doing her captains role by going in goal. The girls continued to play well with this tactic so the managers went for one at the back, Sharna being the unlucky defender. Burymead did create some chances, but Sharna and stand in keeper Charlotte held firm, while at the other end Francesca added 2 more goals to make it a very comfortable 5 nil win against a good side. On the first half performance it would have taken an exceptional side to have competed with The Blacks, outstanding girls well done. This sets up

a fantastic game Sunday 10th April v Reading a win for The Blacks and the treble is in the bag. Camilla, Charlotte{cpt}, Lottie, Hana, Sharna, Sophie, Becks, Bryony{1}, Francesca{4}

31-03-11 Cove 0 v Winchester 5
The smallest pitch you will ever see, one massive rock in the ground by the one of the goals {which we got the groundsman to dig up} and the lines painted in green on a grass pitch awaited the Blacks. As you can imagine on such a small pitch passing football was impossible so it took the Blacks a while to adjust to the pitch. It was more kick and rush, but as the 1st half progressed the Blacks were always in control and eventually, Francesca put us 1 nil up, this was closely followed by a goal from Sophie 2 nil to the Blacks at half time. Second half the Blacks finally got the range of the pitch and although their football wasnt up to their normal high standard they took total control of the game and a 3rd goal scored by Francesca and a headed 4th goal from Sophie made the score comfortable and just on the stoke of the final whisle a rasping shot made it a very well earned 5 nil victory. This was a potential awkward game on a horrible pitch and the only other team to have beaten Reading so well done to the girls for a very proffesional effort,this sets it up nicely for our game v Reading on the 10th of April as the title decider well done girls. Camilla, Charlotte{CPT}, Lottie, Hana, Bryony, Sophie{2}, Francesca{2}, Becks{1}

27-03-11 Winchester 3 v Burymead 0
A lovely hot day for the cup final and understandably the girls were nervous. The pitch was small so there was little space for the Flyers to get their passing game going and with the added pressure of the big occasion the game started very scrappy. Slowly the girls upped the pace of the game and after a couple of half-hearted efforts Francesca got free and smashed an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner, 1 nil Flyers. This gave Winchester a big lift and they continued to press forward, a throw in and a head to the ball from Sharna resulted in the ball bouncing off the post, quickly Sharna followed it in for a scrappy, but priceless goal, 2 nil at half time.
Second half changes were made, with Keris replacing Camilla in goal, and girls playing out of position to give all the squad a run out. Except for the odd attempt from Burymead the Flyers goal was rarely under pressure. The game continued to be played at a frantic pace, with the quality of football becoming poor from both sides. Eventually with more confidence the Flyers started to keep the ball and passed between themselves, frustrating Burymead and getting a well deserved 3rd goal. Again a powerful unstoppable shot from Francesca. The 1st trophy of an ambitious attempt by the Flyers to win all 4 trophies, well done girls you deserved the victory. Camilla, Kerris, Charlotte{cpt}, Lottie, Becks, Sophie, Bryony, Hana, Francesca {2}, Sharna{1}

20-03-11 Winchester 6 v Worplesdon 1
Winchester Blacks started

well, with some great passing and moving off the ball, and it set the tone for the match with the Blacks attacking and Worplesdon defending. The blacks were patient, but goals from Francesca, Sharna and Sophie, gave us a comfortable 3 nil half time lead. The second half was a repeat of the first performance; it could have been double figures had The Blacks brought their shooting boots with them. Further goals from Francesca Sophie and Hana made it 6 nil, but just before the end the slip of concentration allowed a goal from Worplesdon to make the final score 6 1. Camilla, Charlotte{cpt}, Lottie,Hana{1}, Sharna{1}, Bryony, Sophie{2}, Francesca{2}

13-03-11 Winchester 7 v Fleet 0
The girls seemed very focused for the game and straight from the ko they gave Fleet no chance to settle and soon got into their passing game. The movement from the team was good to see, as we are normally slow starters. No surprise when Francesca got free and played a great pass to Bryony - 1 nil. The Flyers continued to play great football and soon its 2 nil, Bryony again. The rest of the half belonged to Francesca who hit a quick fire hatrick, 5 nil half time. Second half we made changes and girls playing in different positions. It was time for Camilla to take centre stage and from a corner; she came up out of goal and connected with a great volley best goal of the game. So she played the rest of the game outfield with Francesca volunteering to go in goal, and sure enough Camilla scored a second, 7 nil the final score. Well played girls excellent performance and a great attitude.

06-03-11 Reading 1 v Winchester Blacks 2

A nice day for football and a big crowd set the scene for a good game. Reading started much the stronger and gave Winchester no time to settle and battled for everything and deservedly took the lead with a good move and finish. 1 nil down Flyers tried to get back into the game, but Reading were strong at the back and kept the score until half time. In the second half a tactical switch took Becks upfront, which soon made a difference with most of the second half being played in Readings half. But the Reading defence remained strong, and Winchester struggled to get that so important equalizer. With time ticking away drastic measures were called upon, so Camilla the keeper came out. Could she maintain her record by scoring on every occasion she played as an outfielder? Within a minute Camilla scored! It started with some great football on the right by Francesca beating a couple of players out wide, followed by a fantastic cross, and there was Camilla in the right place, a yard out, 1-1. The game seemed to be heading for extra time, but Winchester seemed to have a spring in their step and right on the final whistle a scramble in the Reading box the ball fell to Francesca, she dragged it onto her right foot and smashed a cracking shot top corner - Flyers were in the final.

Great game, great advert, excellent play by both sides, shame this wasn’t the final. The final is 27th of March and a repeat of last years final v Burymead. Camilla{1}, Charlotte{cpt}, Lottie, Hana, Sophie, Bryony, Becks, Francesca{1}

27-02-11 Bracknell 3 v Winchester Blacks 3
After a number of cancelled games it was good to see a game being played, so it was up the M3 to play an improving Bracknell team. The game started with the heavy slope in Bracknell’s favour putting the Flyers under a lot of early pressure. Credit to the Winchester they dealt with it well and took the lead with a goal from Francesca, but it was short lived just before half time Bracknell equalized. Second half and with the slope we came out firing and 2 more goals from Francesca gave us a comfortable 3-1 lead. Credit to Bracknell they put Winchester under severe pressure and deservedly got a goal back, which panicked the Flyers, with passing going astray and the girls struggled to keep possession, leading Bracknell’s deserved equalizer. At the final whistle the Flyers team where relieved as Bracknell finished the stronger of the teams. Flyers are not passed the finish post yet and have a bit of work to do. Camilla, Lottie, Charlotte{cpt}, Hana, Sharna, Sophie, Bryony, Francesca{3}

06-02-11 Frimley 0 v Winchester Blacks 4
A blustery morning ,but conditions ok for football. The girls started slowly which seems tio be their trade mark lately, but soon they got their passing game going and they played some lovely football. The goals took time in coming with Francesca opening the scoring, closely followed by Becks to make the half time score 2 nil, and in truth although Frimley battled bravely the game was over as a contest. The 2nd half and the girls continued to create but miss chance after chance ,until Sophie made it 3 nil. It was time for our goalie Camilla time come out on the field, so we put Francesca in goal and sure enough Camilla scored to make the final score 4 nil. A very comfortable win which sees Winchester maintain their 100% record in the NEHYL 13 straight wins scoring 94 goals and conceding 3 with 2 cup matches scoring 8 and conceding just 1. Gining us a semi final on the 6th March v Reading. Well done girls thats now 27 straight wins in all competitions scoring 168 goals and conceding just 7 Camilla{1} ,Charlotte, Lottie{cpt}, Hana, Bryony, Becks{1}, Sophie{1}, Francesca{1}

22-01-22 Winchester Blacks 4 v Fleet 1

15-01-11 Winchester Blacks 12 v Hook 0
Winchester vs Hook saw flyers win very comfortable, the girls did play some excellent footall and would have beaten most sides with their football on sunday.Credit to Hook and their goalkeeper who made some excellent saves. The Blacks ran out comfortable 12 nil winners.
Camilla{4}, Hana, Charlotte{cpt}{1}, Becks, Sharna, Sophie{1}, Francesca{3}, Bryony{35}

21-11-10 Worplesdon 1 v Winchester Blacks 8
We got a great welcome from the home side, nice club house complete with changing rooms,teas and coffees. The nicest people in my 2 years that we have travelled to,and the support they gave their team was fantastic,and a credit to all involved with Worplesdon. An excellent game of football which saw The Blacks, tested and challenged by an excellent Worplesdon side who played with a great spirit and in the first half more than held their own, with an inspired goalkeeper. Well done to The Blacks who battled hard and led 2-1 at half time. Second half and The Blacks got into their stride and played some lovely passing moving

football and they took control of the game and they found the back of the net with a lot more ease. Credit to Worplesdon they battled to the end with a great crowd supporting them to the end, but The Blacks were awesome in the second half and run out 8-1 winners, well done girls. Keris, Lottie, Charlotte{cpt}, Hana, Sophie, Bryony{1}, Becks{1}, Sharna{1}, Francesca{5}

14-11-10 Fleet 0 v Winchester Blacks 5
A cold, wet and bumpy pitch made for a slow Winchester start , as the first half neared its end the passing football began to flourish. Francesca scored 2 good goals followed by an excellent team goal from Bryony giving the team a 3 nil half time lead. The second half saw chance after chance go begging, with the link play between Sophie, Bryony and Francesca working well, 2 more goals came from Bryony (her hatrick). The Flyers could have posted a larger score, but eventually run out comfortable 5 nil winners. Well done girls, keep the good work up. Camilla, Lottie, Charlotte{cpt}, Hana, Sophie, Becks, Francesca{2}, Bryony{3}

07-11-10 Bracknell 0 v Winchester Blacks 4
It turned out to be a very good game against a very good hard working team. On a bumpy wet pitch it took Flyers quite a while to adapt and this gave encouragement to the Bracknell girls, who matched our every move in an even 1st half until they conceded an unlucky own goal on the stroke of half time. This gave Flyers the push they needed and dominated the 2nd half and but for some excellent goalkeeping we would have scored many more. The team began to play some excellent football and goals from came from Charlotte and Bryony, the move of the game finished by Francesca gave Flyers a deserved but hard fought 4 nil victory. Well done girls today was about the team, a difficult weekend but you all played brilliantly. The Q/F is a home tie v Fleet on the 28th Nov. Keris, Lottie, Charlotte{1}, Sharna, Hana, Sophie, Becks, Bryony{1}, Francesca{1}

31-10-10 Hook 1 v Winchester Blacks 14
The game was a comfortable game for the Flyers, credit to Hook they battled to the end and scored a great goal. Next weekend will be harder starting Saturday at home to Denmead, then a trip on Sunday in the cup to Bracknell. Kerris{1}, Lottie, Charlotte, Hana{1}, Sharna{2}, Bryony{5}, Francesca{5}

24-10-10 Winchester Blacks 7 v Burymeade 0

With school half term and the holidays, the Flyers managed to get a team of just 7, but what a performance they put in. The girls started quietly, and the first 10 minutes saw an even game, but once Bryony scored a terrific team goal it gave the girls a lift. Although Burymeade were physical and battled hard, our skill and pace soon took over and by half time Flyers were up 3 nil. The second half saw the girls moved up a gear, with Becks, Bryony, Sharna and Francesca working well together. Flyers ran out a very comfortable winners 7 nil. What was pleasing was that all the girls performed excellently, not only individually but as a team. The understanding they've created and they believe in each other is amazing, keep up the good work. Keris, Lottie, Sharna{cpt}, Hana, Bryony{2}, Becks{2}{another left footed goal}, Francesca{3} {3rd goal what individual skills well done}.

17-10-10 Winchester Blacks 8 v Winchester Reds 0

Both sets of girls played the game in a good manner and credit to both teams for playing the way they did in great spirit. It was a good game and The Blacks took control from the ko and with their passing and communication they were a bit too strong for The Reds. Well done to all the girls and well done to The Blacks for a good win. Kerris, Lottie, Charlotte{cpt}, Hana, Sophie, Sharna, Becks{1}, Bryony{3}, Francesca{4}

10-10-10 Winchester 11 v Binfield 0

Lovely sunny day saw Winchester play their normal passing game, creating numreous chances in a very one sided game. We made many changes and played all the girls out of position for most of the game, but they all continued to play the way The Flyers do and could and should have won by many more goals than we did. Well done again girls, and a well done to Lottie who eventually scored {about time too}. Camilla{1}, Lottie{2}, Charlotte{1}{cpt}, Hana{1}, Becks{1}, Bryony{2}, Francesca{3}, Sophie.

03-10-10 Winchester 9 v Cove 0
We welcomed Cove to a wet and rainy Garrison. The rain did not stop the Winchester girls, from the start they gave Cove no chance to settle and the goals flowed, 4 nil at half time, with a hatrick from Francesca, and a great left footed shot from Sharna. Just a mention on Francescas 3rd goal, it started from defence out to Sharna on the left who passed her marker onto Bryony who flicked it towards the penalty area in the air and from nowhere Francesca run onto the ball on the volley and smashed it in the back of the net outstanding. Half time we gave Camilla (keeper) a rare run out on the field and the great passing football the girls play continued, with an outstanding display from the Cove keeper, the result would definitely have been double figures. Credit to Cove who kept battling till the end, but today The Flyers were AWESOME, well played girls. Keris, Lottie, Charlotte, Hana, Bryony, Camilla{1}, Sharna{1}, Francesca{6}.

27-09-10 Winchester 7 v Bracknell 1

This was goona be a good test for the girls as Bracknell play the game the right way. The girls were fired up and from the ko got at Bracknell giving them no time to settle, and caused Bracknells defence problems,and in no time Francesca scored 1 nil. Our 2nd goal was outstanding with every girl involved in the build up virtually from defence to attack with 1 touch passing ending with Becks having an easy tap in 2 nil, soon 3 nil with a good goal from Bryony h/t. Half time Sharna and Sophie came on for Lottie and Bryony. The football continued to flow and

at times it was a joy to stand back and admire,we turned defence into attack in seconds and the chances we created did not justify the score line.Francesca soon found her shooting boots and 4 more goals in the 2nd half,with Sophie supplying some great passes to the team and the confidence at the back with Sharnas running with the ball was excellent. Bracknell are a good side but we gave them no chance to settle,credit to their girls they battled all through the game and they scored a consolation goal towards the end,but today The Flyers were awesome Keris, Charlotte{cpt}, Lottie, Bryony{1}, Hana, Becks{1}, Francesca{5}, Sharna, Sophie

19-09-10 Reading 0 v Winchester 5

With no game on Saturday the girls were itching to play, and started brilliantly. Great passing and movement off the ball it didn’t take long for Francesca to put the Flyers 1 up. We continued to play some good football and deservedly took a 2 nil lead with a great shot from Hana and soon it was 3 nil from Francesca’s, and only a great performance from Readings keeper kept it at 3 nil at half time. Half time Sharna and Sophie came on for the team, and we continued our good work and total dominance with a 4th goal from Hana, and Becks with number 5. This was an outstanding team performance with a special performance note for Becks. Well done girls, looks like the Saturday training paid off. Keris, Charlotte{cpt}, Lottie, Sharna, Becks{1}, Sophie, Bryony, Hana{2}, Francesca{2}

12-09-10 Winchester 5 v Rushmoor Saints 0
The girls still on a high from beating Saints on Saturday continued to play some excellent football and gave Rushmoor a footballing lesson. Becks opened the scoring and Francesca got her first goal of three. Camilla playing out rather than between the posts scored her first goal for The Flyers. Some of the football the girls played was brilliant, if they all had their shooting boots on it would have been double figures. Theres a great team spirit and understanding amongst the girls so keep up the good work, well played girls. Keris {her first game for The Flyers}, Hana, Charlotte{cpt}, Sophie, Camilla{1}, Bryony, Becks{1}, Francesca{3} U11 NEHYFL Archive 09/10 reports

Cup Q/F. The game started with Fleet holding every player behind the ball, so it was up to Winchester Blacks to break Fleet down. As hard as The Blacks tried the Fleet keeper was equal to everything, with the team going in 0-0 at half time. A tactical switch saw Becks and Francesca swap positions and it took no time for The Flyers to take a 2 nil lead through Sharna and Bryony. The game seemed to be won, so Camilla was taken out of goal for a run out as she never had a save to make. Credit to Fleet with their first shot on goal they scored, 2-

1. It was short lived as 2 quick goals from Camilla and Becks sealed the game for The Flyers. Another good test for The Flyers and they won well in the end,well done girls onwards to the Semi Fi
