Winchester City Flyers are delighted to announce the signing of Ellie Parker from Fulham.
The experienced goalkeeper was in demand this summer following her departure from the London club.
Parker spent a decade at Maidenhead United from 2010-2020 where she racked up over 180 appearances for the Berkshire outfit.
A stalwart for the club she made her debut in August 2010 where she kept her first of many clean sheets.
In her debut season, she helped the team reach a cup final before she won the Southern Region Premier Division with the Magpies in the 2014/15 season and promotion to the National League.
It was in 2020 that Parker moved to Hampshire where she joined Southampton Women’s FC and despite her first season being cut very short due to the Pandemic she made 52 appearances for the Sirens.
Parker then moved to Fulham last summer where she was competing for the number one spot alongside former Crawley Wasps keeper Frankie Gibbs.
The shot-stopper is well known in the game for her heroics in a penalty shootout and boasts an impressive record between the sticks with her holding the record for the most penalty saves in one season at York Road for Maidenhead including the men’s teams’ records.
On signing for City Parker said: “I’ve been watching Winchester for a while and seeing the changes the club are going through and all the efforts behind the scenes, it feels like the right time to join.
“It's exciting to see the transformation and be a part of that.
“The squad has been so kind and made me feel like part of the team from my first session.
“All the staff have been great and the drive they have to move the club forward is admirable. I've also enjoyed settling into my new goalkeeper union (GKU).”
The goalkeeper brings a wealth of experience and is looking forward to bringing that to the table with her new teammates.
She said: “I am very driven, dedicated and I want to win. I will lead from the back and by example.
“I'll bring fight, energy and positivity to help the club push forward alongside my teammates.
“Ultimately, I want to win the league and progress further in cup competitions.
“It may sound ambitious, but we have a fantastic squad that I believe stands a chance in doing just that.”
