Winchester City Flyers are delighted to announce the signing of Emma Whitlock following her departure from Southampton Women's FC.
The midfielder is Emma Pearmine's sixth summer signing and links up with her former Sirens team in Ellie Parker.
Whitlock's senior career began in 2014 when she debuted at 16 for, the now folded, Southampton Saints in the FA Women's National League Division One South West.
She made over 60 appearances for Southampton across three seasons and was part of the squad that won the Southampton Divisional FA Cup three times in a row.
From there Whitlock made the short switch to play for Southampton FC Women who entered a senior women's side into the pyramid in 2017.
The team won promotion from Hampshire County Division One in their first year before going on to lift the Southern Region Premier Division title the following season.
In total, the midfielder spent four years with the Saints.
A third Southampton club was on the cards in 2021 as Whitlock signed for Southampton Women's of the National League.
Now after three years and making over 60 appearances for the Sirens she has decided to leave the city of Southampton to join Winchester for the upcoming season.
Whitlock is looking forward to enjoying her football with the Flyers in what she has described as a "welcoming" and "positive" environment.
On joining the club she said: "The club has great ambition and it’s a great set-up here.
"I knew a few faces here already, so it’s nice to play alongside some old teammates again.
"But the biggest thing for me is how welcoming the club have been and how positive the environment is.
"I’m really excited to be at a place where I can enjoy my football.
"I’ve loved my time here so far. Everyone has been really friendly and welcoming and there is so much quality within the group.
"I’m excited to see what the season brings!
"I'm looking to bring creativity, energy and positivity to the team. I want to keep learning and improving.
"I’m hoping to contribute to the team's success in whatever way I can. I want to see us compete in the league."
