Winchester City Flyers is delighted to announce the summer signing of Freya Twigg, who adds firepower to the frontline.

The 19-year-old has spent the last three seasons at Andover New Street.

She has been Andover’s top goal scorer for the last two seasons and has an impressive goals-to-games ratio, scoring 36 goals in 48 appearances.

In 2025, Twigg was part of the New Street side who finished second in the Hampshire County Division One and were rewarded with promotion to the Southern Region.

The teenager has twice come up against the Flyers in the last two years, both appearances coming in the North Hampshire Cup; she also scored in the 5-3 win in the 2026 final.

On her signing with Winchester, Twigg was full of compliments.

She said: “It feels like home.

“I was following how well the club was doing last season, and it massively appealed to me.

“After playing the team in the North Hants Cup, I began to see that this could be my new home.

“The players and staff have been very welcoming and made my transition to life as a Flyer much easier.

“People can expect to see speed and hopefully goals.”
