Burt follows her teammate Emma Whitlock for a second time after they both spent the better part of the last seven years at Southampton FC Women and Southampton Women’s respectively.

The fullback started her senior career at the Saints in 2017 where she was a vital part of the squad who won back-to-back promotions.

They were champions of Hampshire County Division One in 2017/18 before repeating their success in the Southern Region Premier Division to lift the title and gain promotion to the National League.

After four seasons at Southampton FC Burt made the short journey to play for Southampton Women’s.

The quick defender played a huge role in the 2021/22 season where she appeared 26 times and scored twice.

Burt took some time out of the game before returning to the Sirens last season where she made three appearances at the back end of the campaign.

Now the 23-year-old has made the switch to Winchester where her experience will provide a boost to Emma Pearmine’s side as she can play anywhere on the left.

A familiarity with the club was a plus for Burt as she made her decision to join, she said: “I know I few of the girls here already and heard good things about the club.

“I came during pre-season to find out for myself, and I love it.

“The girls have been really welcoming and I couldn’t have felt more included with the team.

“The friendlies and training sessions I have been to have been positive, I’ve seen the group gel well with us newbies in the team.”

It’s a new season and beginning for the defender but what can supporters expect from our seventh signing.

Burt said: “I like to play out from the back and make forward runs but also love to defend one-on-one and competitive games.

“I’m looking to rebuild my fitness and get back playing to how I know I can play; I want to push for promotion and just win as much as we can.”
