The Flyers head to the league leaders

Winchester City Flyers take on the Southern Region Premier Division leaders on Sunday with a trip to the Racecourse on the card for Emma Pearmine's team.

Ascot United are eight points clear at the top of the table and are looking to go one better than last season as Bournemouth Sports beat them to promotion by one point.

The Yellas have dropped just two points this season coming in a 2-2 draw with Wycombe Wanderers.

Unsurprisingly United are the league's top goal scorers and Olivia Glover is their top scorer with 12 goals from 12 games in the league and 16 goals in all competitions.

They've had 15 different goal scorers this term with Leah Littlechild (14) and Beth Lloyd (12) have hit double figures in Ascot's attempt to win promotion to the FA Women's National League.

In their last game they ran out 6-0 winners over Havant & Waterlooville in the Southern Region League Cup.

A Littlechild scored a hat-trick to put the Yellas through to the Semi-finals; Kate Fox, Erin Huntley and an own goal completed the trashing of the Hawks.

Also joining Ascot in the semis are the Flyers who were 5-0 winners over Beaconsfield Town.

Libby Wilkinson scored a brace to continue her best ever season for Winchester to take her tally to 19 for the season and has 10 goals in her last 10 outings.

Kayleigh Tonks netted from a good Sharna Capel-Watson corner before the fullback saw another corner going directly into the goal and then top goal scorer Annie Northwood netted her 21st goal of the season.

Winchester have won nine out of their last 10 games with the only defeating coming in the Hampshire Women's Senior Cup against Southampton under-21s.

The previous encounter ended in a strong performance and result for Ascot who won 4-0 at the Charters Community Stadium.

When the two met last season at the Racecourse Winchester came away feeling a bit gutted not to have gone home with all three points as Aisla Sheppard scored a 90th minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
