Chelsie Hay and Annie Northwood bagged hat-tricks as Winchester City Flyers made it back-to-back wins in the Southern Region Premier Division as they won 7-1 over Fleet Town on Sunday.

Winger Laura da Silva opened the scoring before new signing Hay scored three on debut.

Northwood came off the bench to score three of her own while Fleet had to settle for a consolation goal.

Once again, Emma Pearmine made a flurry of changes to her matchday squad, and that included striker Hay starting on her debut, having just signed from Havant & Waterlooville.

The Flyers flew out of the traps and broke the deadlock inside two minutes.

Laura Allcock made a crucial save from Libby Wilkinson's corner only for da Silva to leap onto the loose ball and smash in the rebound.

More attempts came for the hosts, Sian Wylie shot straight at the goalkeeper, Allcock, before Hay also had an effort blocked.

Ellie Parker punched clear a good Fleet corner before Wylie saw another shot claimed by the keeper.

With 22nd minutes played, Hay scored her first goal for the club.

Lydia Moulding chipped the ball over the defence to da Silva to drive into the box, where she unselfishly squared for Hay to slot home.

The Flyers were frustrated by Town’s high defensive line as they were caught offside on numerous occasions and despite their dominance took just a 2-0 lead into the break.

Parker was called into action in the second-half where she denied Keira Simpson a goal back for Fleet.

In the 49th minute, Winchester extended their lead to three.

Imogen Cockerell looked to step out of defence and lost the ball under pressure from Hay, who neatly beat the keeper for her second of the afternoon.

Just three minutes later, the former Moneyfields striker wrapped up her hat-trick.

Moulding launched the ball to find da Silva, who had been terrorising Fleet all afternoon, she crossed low for Hay to finish to make it 4-0.

The fourth goal signalled a change up front as Northwood replaced Hay, and a challenge was set.

Fleet tried to get back into the game with shots from Layla Drury and Jocelyn Elleby, but these didn’t test Parker in the Flyers' net.

With 73 minutes on the clock, Northwood grabbed her first goal of the game.

Fellow substitute Shayne Prasad pressed the Fleet defence and picked out the low pass for Northwood to finish into an empty net.

Just six minutes later, Northwood got her second as Emily McDonough slipped the striker through to drive into the box and bury her shot.

Fleet pulled one back in the 83rd minute, Kia Dunn’s cross was tapped in by Aniya Thompson as a consolation for the north Hampshire outfit.

As the clock ticked down, Northwood was put through by Prasad to finish first time to wrap up her hat-trick.

At the final whistle, the Flyers soared up to third in the league following back-to-back wins.

Next up, Winchester host Yeovil Town in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on Sunday, 5th October.
