Preview | Flyers vs Yeovil Town
Winchester host the Glovers in the FA Cup
Yeovil Town are the visitors to the Charters Community Stadium on Sunday in the Third Round Qualifying of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Winchester City Flyers will be hoping to reach the First Round Proper for the second time ever after reaching the stage last term with a 3-0 win over Bitton AFC.
The Glovers are currently unbeaten in their four games this season.
Two wins in the league and two in the FA Cup has Yeovil full of confidence as they make the trip to Winchester.
So far they’ve scored 14 goals across the four games, averaging 3.25 goals per game, and they’ve conceded just once this season.
Zara Hunt leads the scoring for Town with seven goals in four appearances, and Lily McNally has bagged five in an impressive start to the season.
Winchester find themselves on a three game unbeaten run with two league wins and the penalty shootout win over Sholing in the previous round of the FA Cup.
Last weekend, the Flyers were impressive in a 7-1 win over Southern Region Premier Division newbies Fleet Town.
Laura da Silva opened the scoring before new striker Chelsie Hay and substitute Annie Northwood each scored a hat-trick.
Heading into the game, Emma Pearmine has a strong squad to select from despite Hay being unavailable, having already played in the qualifying rounds for Havant & Waterlooville.
The winners of the game will head into the First Round Proper while also earning their side £4,000. The losing side earns £1,000.
